Slip-On Installation

Because The GripMaster grips are engineered for simple slip-on installation, you can install our grips just like you would install any slip-on synthetic grip. Most golf shops will have all of the supplies and tools you will need - however, we recommend using Brampton HF-100 tape activator and our own grip tapes. Brampton is a water-based tape activator that simplifies the installation process and your grips are playable in as little as 15 minutes after installation. If you prefer solvent based installation, click here.

Grip Cap

Supplies Needed

  • Grip tape
  • Bramption HF-100 Tape activator
  • The Grip Master grips

Equipment Needed

  • Vinyl shaft clamp
  • Bench vise
  • Sheetrock knife or carpet knife to remove old grip
  • Straight-edged knife or heat gun to remove old tape
General Tips - PLEASE READ!
  • Completely cover the grip area on the shaft with tape - do not leave gaps!
  • Take care not to kink or bend the grip when installing. This can move the strapping or even tear the underlast. In most cases, if the underlast is not torn, the strapping can be re-tensioned if moved. (See re-tensioning.)
  • Put on right-handed grips with a clockwise motion
  • Counter rotate both ends of the grip to line up the cap and grip logos square with the club face
