Moisture activated molecules in the leather.
Take a look at the diagram showing how The Grip Master leather uses PROTACKTM to enhance grip. Moisture, either in the air or from the skin, (depicted in blue) is absorbed then reacts with the PROTACKTM to create a soft but tacky grip. The red arrows show how The Grip Master leather breathes through the pores of the leather, another feature of using a natural product. The breathing action helps distribute the PROTACKTM to the surface and aids in the recycling of the PROTACKTM, preserving the gripping properties for years.
Part Of The Leather
The gripping properties of the proprietary PROTACKTM are part of the actual leather. The Grip Master leather wrap is manufactured from hand selected premium "AAA" graded cowhides. Using new tanning technology, the leather breathes and retains a soft and supple feel.
The high performance properties of the tanning process are then enhanced by the use of our proprietary formulation PROTACKTM. It combines with the leather protein by reacting with the amino group on the protein in a aldehyde type condensation reaction. However, the PROTACKTM remains free within the leather structure.
The reaction within the leather forms a highly stable hydrophobic tackifying bond. Moisture is now allowed to pass into the leather structure. This activates the PROTACKTM molecules and produces a superior feel and sensitive touch that can only be created by the natural properties of leather.
Working The Leather
Always remember to re-activate the PROTACKTM by simply wiping it with a wet or moist cloth. Please do not use any detergents, or any other chemicals, to clean your grips. Do not use any waxes or silicon-based leather treatments as they will seriously restrict the ability of the leather to breath and to activate the PROTACKTM. Simply wipe them down with a wet or moist cloth in plain water (hot or cold).
